Festive, and luxuriously creamy, eggnog is possibly the quintessential holiday drink! Unfortunately, the thought of consuming a glass filled with heavy cream mixed with raw eggs might be off-putting to some, and store-bought eggnog just never quite hits the spot. Luckily, when I met CJ, whose mom hails from Puerto Rico, I was introduced to the amazing world of the Coquito, and I’ve never looked back!
Coquito is a traditional Puerto Rican holiday cocktail that serves as a luxurious alternative to eggnog. Made from rich coconut milk, sweetened condensed milk, and a generous splash of rum, this creamy concoction is often infused with vanilla and a touch of cinnamon, resulting in an exquisite, tropical flavor.
While the origins of Coquito—meaning “little coconut”—may remain somewhat elusive, its status as a cherished holiday staple in Puerto Rico is undeniable. There are countless delicious variations of the Coquito, and I’m thrilled to present our lavish, vegan twist on this classic favorite!
We hope you enjoy this smooth, indulgent cocktail as much as we do!
Happy Holidays!
